Owner complaints9
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Owners report multiple electrical system issues with the 2022 Jeep Renegade, primarily involving warning lights and unexpected vehicle shutdowns. Complaints frequently mention warning lights for systems such as the seatbelt, airbags, and parking brake, often accompanied by the vehicle stalling or losing power, sometimes in traffic, which poses safety risks. Several owners describe these issues occurring at relatively low mileages, typically under 10,000 miles, with some experiencing problems shortly after purchase. The recurring nature of these electrical failures, along with the inability of dealerships to consistently diagnose or repair the issues, suggests potential challenges for prospective buyers considering this model.
Owner complaints6
POWER TRAIN
Owners of the 2022 Jeep Renegade frequently report issues with the power train, particularly involving hesitation and delay when accelerating from a stop, with some describing a 2-4 second delay. Complaints also mention erratic shifting, vehicle shuddering, and lurching, often accompanied by high RPMs. Several owners note these issues occurring at various speeds and mention additional complications such as oil leaks and excessive oil consumption, typically emerging around 12,000 miles. Safety implications are significant, with reports of the vehicle shutting down unexpectedly, extended braking distances, and loss of power mid-traffic, posing risks of collisions. These patterns suggest potential reliability concerns for prospective used car buyers considering this model.
Owner complaints3
ENGINE
Owners of the 2022 Jeep Renegade frequently report issues with oil leaks, particularly involving the rear main seal, and engine stalling. These problems are noted in vehicles with mileages as low as 9,040 miles and up to 54,000 miles. Symptoms described include the engine stalling upon acceleration or while driving, as well as the vehicle surging or jerking. Some owners also report a hot smell from the vehicle, raising concerns about potential safety risks, though no incidents of fire or crashes have been documented. Buyers should be aware of these issues when considering a used 2022 Jeep Renegade, as they may require attention or repairs.
Owner complaints2
FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Owners report issues with the forward collision avoidance system in the 2022 Jeep Renegade, specifically citing failures of part number 68536883AA. Complaints frequently mention that the system becomes inoperative, with one owner noting the issue first occurred in November and persists due to a backorder of the necessary part. Another owner describes the system failing while driving on the highway with less than 200 miles on the odometer, suggesting problems can occur early in the vehicle's life. No crashes or loss of control are reported, but the system's failure while driving is a noted concern. These issues may be relevant for used car buyers considering the availability of replacement parts and potential early system failures.
