Reliability verdict for the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek
With a 76/100 reliability score versus a 72/100 segment average, the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek lands above the class norm. The data points to generally solid dependability rather than standout durability, but it does indicate a lower buyer risk profile than the typical competitor in this segment. Recall activity is limited, which supports that overall picture.
Complaint patterns are somewhat concentrated. Visibility and wiper-related reports lead the mix, suggesting one area accounts for a disproportionate share of owner friction. Beyond that, complaints spread across a handful of core systems—powertrain, engine, and electrical—without any single drivetrain or electronics category dominating the totals. The presence of a sizable “unknown or other” bucket adds some uncertainty to the complaint signal.
Overall, the Crosstrek presents an above-average reliability outlook with moderate buyer risk.
