STEERING
Owners of the 2024 Nissan Sentra frequently report issues related to the steering and front axle components. Common symptoms include popping or clicking sounds from the front end, particularly when turning or driving over uneven surfaces, and in some cases, a loss of steering control. Two complaints involve crashes, with one describing a ball joint separation and another mentioning a drive shaft detachment, both leading to a loss of vehicle control. These issues are reported at various mileages, with one instance occurring as early as 2,700 miles. Potential buyers should be aware of these steering-related concerns, which may pose safety risks, including loss of control and crashes.
Owners report that the 2024 Nissan Sentra exhibits issues primarily related to the power train, with symptoms including jerking movements, loud grinding noises, and unexpected hesitations during acceleration. Complaints frequently mention warning lights such as "Check Engine" and "CVT Malfunction Service Now," as well as problems with the push-button start/stop system, which sometimes fails to turn off the vehicle when parked. These issues appear at various mileages, with one report noting problems as early as within the first two months of ownership. Safety implications are noted, with one owner nearly experiencing accidents due to unexpected power loss and RPM surges. This information may be relevant for potential buyers considering the reliability and safety of a used 2024 Sentra.
Owner complaints3
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Owners of the 2024 Nissan Sentra report multiple issues related to the electrical system, with the most severe involving the vehicle abruptly shutting off during operation. This issue is described as occurring without warning lights, often in traffic, and includes incidents where the battery needed frequent jumps despite testing normal. One owner reports a crash and injury attributed to the car shutting off, compounded by airbag deployment failures. Another complaint highlights problems with the Bluetooth/CarPlay USB connection, which frequently disconnects and reconnects. These issues are reported within the first year of ownership, indicating potential early-life electrical system reliability concerns.
Owners report issues with the 2024 Nissan Sentra related to acceleration loss, particularly after stopping at lights or when turning onto another street. Complaints frequently mention a delay in acceleration without the car's power shutting off. One owner notes this has occurred approximately 10 times. Another owner describes a recurring problem with the brake switch, which was initially fixed but reappeared at around 15,000 miles. Safety implications include a potential loss of drive power, as highlighted by a recall for driveshaft separation, which could increase the risk of a crash. These issues occur at various mileages, with one case beginning at 9,000 miles.

STRUCTURE
Owners report issues with the 2024 Nissan Sentra's front splash guard detaching under normal driving conditions, primarily due to insufficient fasteners that fail to withstand road elements like water and wind pressure. Complaints frequently mention the splash guard being secured with plastic push pins and a single screw, leading to detachment when encountering puddles or high-speed winds, posing a potential safety hazard on the highway. Additionally, one owner describes a problem with the driver's side door not opening when using the mechanical lever if the doors are electrically locked, which could prevent exit in an emergency. These issues occur at various mileages, with the splash guard problem resulting in vehicle towing and unresolved dealership repairs, highlighting safety implications.
Owner complaints2
SUSPENSION
Owners of the 2024 Nissan Sentra report issues related to suspension noises. Complaints frequently mention hearing loud creaking or popping sounds, particularly from the front end, when turning. One owner notes these sounds occur at all speeds and required a special order axle replacement, with the issue surfacing at around 2,500 miles. Another owner describes a loud rubbing sound from the left side undercarriage when making hard left turns after washing the car. No safety implications such as crashes or loss of control are reported in these complaints.

VISIBILITYNHTSA 24V498000Jul 1, 2024
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Nissan Sentra vehicles. The windshield may have air bubbles on the front lower driver's side, which can obscure the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 205, "Glazing Materials."
Consequence: An owner who cannot see their VIN clearly may not recognize their vehicle is involved in a safety recall, and may not have the recall remedy performed, which could increase the risk of injury, fire, or a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the windshield as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 29, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PMA38.
POWER TRAINNHTSA 24V304000Apr 29, 2024
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Sentra vehicles. The front left-side driveshaft may not be fully seated in the continuously variable transmission (CVT) assembly, or may have a loose or missing retaining clip, which can cause a transmission fluid leak and loss of drive power.
Consequence: An unexpected loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the front left driveshaft, and if necessary, replace the driveshaft and CVT assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 26, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PMA37.
AIR BAGSNHTSA 24V154000Feb 27, 2024
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Titan, Frontier, Infiniti QX60, Pathfinder, 2023-2024 Sentra, Versa, Kicks, Infiniti QX50, and 2023 Rogue vehicles. Due to a manufacturing issue, the driver's air bag inflator may absorb moisture, and cause the air bag to deploy improperly.
Consequence: An air bag that deploys improperly may not protect the driver as intended during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the front driver's air bag assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 10, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PD103, PD104, and PMA34.

Listing benchmarks establish a market range; trim, mileage, condition, title history and prior damage determine what one vehicle is worth.
With an 84/100 score against an 86/100 segment average, the 2024 Nissan Sentra lands slightly below the class norm. That points to generally solid reliability, but not a standout result within its peer set. As year five of its current generation, the data reflects a mature model cycle rather than an early run.
Issues are not evenly spread across the vehicle. Complaints show a clear concentration in steering, while powertrain and electrical concerns form a smaller secondary cluster and the remaining reports are scattered.
