What owners reported
2026 KIA Sportage owner complaints in detail
Owner complaints2
UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Owners of the 2026 KIA Sportage report issues with the dashboard and interior vibrations. One complaint describes a complete failure of the dashboard display, including the speedometer and turn signals, while driving, with the vehicle having less than 200 miles. Another owner notes intense vibrations at speeds over 50 mph, particularly affecting the driver's seat and center console, leading to numbness in the driver's foot. These issues arise early in the vehicle's usage, potentially impacting safety due to the lack of critical driving information and discomfort during driving.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEMNHTSA 26V046000Jan 27, 2026
Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2025 Kia K4, 2025-2026 Sorento, Sorento Hybrid, Sorento Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV), 2026 Sportage, Sportage Hybrid, Sportage PHEV, K5, EV9, Carnival, and Carnival Hybrid vehicles. Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101, "Controls and Displays" and 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring System."
Consequence: An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer, tire pressure, or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
The instrument panel display software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 26, 2026. Owners may contact Kia Customer Service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC361. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on February 9, 2026.

With an 81/100 score matching the segment average, the 2026 Kia Sportage reads as near-average for reliability rather than a standout. The small complaint volume supports a generally stable picture, but it doesn’t provide much depth on patterns or repeat failures.
Reported issues are not clustered around a single dominant system. Instead, they’re split between a couple of defined areas and a larger share logged as unknown or other, which limits how clearly the data points to a consistent weakness. The recall count is elevated enough to note, though it isn’t extreme.
Overall, the data indicates a moderate, segment-typical risk level.
