Reliability verdict for the 2021 Kia Sorento

With a 77/100 reliability score against a 73/100 segment average, the 2021 Kia Sorento lands above the class norm. That points to generally solid dependability on paper, but not to a standout, low-incident profile. As the first year of a new generation, the data reads more like a model still settling into its update than a fully mature, trouble-free baseline.

Issue reporting is not evenly spread. Complaints cluster heavily around the powertrain, with smaller secondary groupings tied to electrical and engine-related areas, plus a notable share logged as unknown or other. That concentration suggests the ownership risk is more focused than broad, but still meaningful. Recall activity is elevated rather than limited, adding to the overall uncertainty.

Overall risk level: moderate.
