Owner complaints3
UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Owners of the 2020 Cadillac XT4 report several recurring issues in the UNKNOWN OR OTHER category. Multiple complaints describe braking problems, with symptoms including "squishy" brakes and concerns about the vehicle's ability to stop effectively. Additionally, there are reports of the Stabilitrack system malfunctioning during freezing weather, triggering the check engine light; this issue has been reported in consecutive winter seasons. Another frequent problem involves the backup camera, which intermittently stops working despite recall repairs. These issues are noted within the vehicle's warranty period, suggesting they occur relatively early in the vehicle's lifespan. Safety implications are highlighted by owners who express concerns about the vehicle's stopping capability and the functionality of the backup camera.
Owner complaints2
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Owners of the 2020 Cadillac XT4 report issues with the electrical system, specifically involving the rear/360 camera and battery. Complaints frequently mention the camera functioning intermittently, even after dealership repairs and replacements, with problems recurring approximately six months after the last fix. Additionally, there are reports of sudden battery failure without prior warning, noted at around 33,000 miles, which some owners find concerning due to the potential for being stranded. While no crashes or fires are reported, the unexpected battery failure poses a risk of immobilization, which could be significant for some drivers. These issues may be relevant for potential buyers considering a used XT4, as they indicate possible recurring maintenance concerns.
Owner complaints2
SUSPENSION
Owners of the 2020 Cadillac XT4 report issues related to the vehicle's suspension, particularly involving the rear passenger's side shock absorber. One owner describes a recurring failure despite initial repairs, characterized by an abnormal popping sound and screeching brakes, occurring around 25,000 miles. Another mentions malfunctioning ABS and stability track systems, which nearly resulted in a loss of vehicle control. These complaints suggest potential safety implications, such as difficulty maintaining control, though no crashes or injuries are reported. Buyers should be aware of these issues, especially at higher mileages, and consider verifying any completed recalls or repairs.
Owner complaints2
SERVICE BRAKES
Owners of the 2020 Cadillac XT4 report issues related to the service brakes, with one complaint describing a failure to respond when the brake pedal is depressed at 30 MPH, accompanied by several warning lights on the instrument panel. This issue is noted alongside additional symptoms such as abnormal vehicle shaking, oil leakage from the brake master cylinder, and problems with the rear struts and shocks. Another owner mentions receiving a recall notification for the service brakes, but parts for the repair are unavailable, and no failure has been experienced yet. The first complaint notes these issues occurring at approximately 83,376 miles. Potential buyers should be aware of these reported brake-related issues and the unavailability of recall parts, which may affect safety and repair timelines.
