Owner complaints5

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Owners report several electrical system issues with the 2022 Buick Envision, with the most common being instrument panel failures. Complaints frequently mention the instrument cluster going black, affecting the speedometer, warning lights, and gear display, which poses safety concerns due to the lack of critical driving information. Additionally, some owners describe persistent safety restraint system alerts and difficulties with the vehicle's sunroof and memory seat functions. These issues often arise early in the vehicle's life, with some occurring at mileage as low as 1,415. The potential for unexpected vehicle operation, such as the vehicle starting on its own, further underscores the electrical system's unreliability.

Owner complaints5

ENGINE

Owners of the 2022 Buick Envision frequently report issues related to engine performance and transmission behavior. Complaints commonly describe problems with the vehicle hesitating or failing to shift gears properly, often accompanied by unusual noises such as humming, squeaking, or whistling. Some reports mention the engine revving unexpectedly high, particularly when attempting to accelerate, which has been noted at mileage as low as 2,200 miles. In several cases, these issues have led to situations where the vehicle loses power or hesitates, posing potential safety risks, especially in traffic or when trying to avoid other vehicles. Buyers should be aware of these reported symptoms and consider them when evaluating the vehicle's reliability.

Owner complaints3

POWER TRAIN

Owners of the 2022 Buick Envision report significant powertrain issues, primarily involving the OnStar Telematics Module and fuel pump control module. Common symptoms include unexpected vehicle shutdowns mid-drive, which result in a complete loss of control, and frequent battery drainage despite a functioning alternator. Complaints also describe engine-related problems such as squeaking sounds, coolant odors, and a persistent whistling noise when accelerating, even after multiple repairs and replacements of components like the turbo hose. These issues often appear within the first year of ownership, with one report indicating problems at approximately 2,700 miles. The unexpected shutdowns pose a notable safety risk, particularly in traffic or at higher speeds, due to the sudden loss of steering, braking, and acceleration capabilities.

Owner complaints2

AIR BAGS

Owners of the 2022 Buick Envision report issues related to air bags, with two distinct problems noted. One complaint describes a collision at approximately 15 MPH where all air bags deployed, and the steering air bag emblem caused a severe arm injury, resulting in burns and whiplash. This incident occurred at around 30,000 miles. Another owner reports a recurring issue with the Service Safety Restraint System warning and airbag light activating intermittently, which began at around 2,400 miles and continues to be distracting. These reports highlight potential safety implications due to airbag deployment injuries and distracting warning lights.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Owners of the 2022 Buick Envision report issues with the telematics module and collision warning system. Complaints frequently mention the telematics module draining the battery, causing the vehicle to shut off unexpectedly during operation, particularly on highways. This issue reportedly leads to malfunctioning safety features and requires battery replacements. Additionally, multiple owners describe the collision warning system randomly switching from audible alerts to seat vibrations, contributing to minor accidents like backing into another vehicle. These problems present significant safety implications, including potential loss of vehicle control and reduced collision avoidance capabilities.

Owner complaints2

SERVICE BRAKES

Owners of the 2022 Buick Envision report issues with the service brakes, specifically describing situations where the vehicle fails to stop immediately despite the brake pedal being depressed. Complaints frequently mention the need for excessive force to engage the brakes effectively. In one instance, the engine revved abnormally, contributing to the difficulty in stopping the vehicle. These issues are reported at mileage around 21,000, with one owner noting the problem as intermittent. Safety implications are significant, as the described brake failures could lead to loss of vehicle control, especially since some owners express concern about the potential for crashes due to delayed stopping.
