ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Owners of the 2024 Audi Q8 frequently report issues related to the vehicle's electrical system, particularly involving charging system failures and window operation malfunctions. Charging system failures are reported to occur unpredictably and can render the vehicle inoperable, with some owners experiencing these failures at approximately 6,335 miles. Additionally, multiple owners describe the windows retracting unexpectedly when attempting to close them, which can be distracting and pose safety risks. A significant safety implication is highlighted by an incident involving a fire caused by a charging system cable, leading to damage in a 240 outlet box and melted components. These issues suggest potential concerns for reliability and safety, particularly for those considering purchasing a used model.
Owners report recurring issues with the braking system of the 2024 Audi Q8, specifically noting warped rotors and brake shuddering. Complaints frequently mention symptoms such as violent shaking during braking, pulsating brakes at lower speeds, and uneven brake pressure. These issues are often reported within a mileage range of 12,000 to 33,000 miles, with some owners experiencing repeated rotor and pad replacements. Safety implications include increased stopping distances and potential loss of control, particularly during emergency braking situations. Buyers should be aware of these reported problems, as multiple owners describe similar experiences despite varying maintenance efforts and warranty coverage.
Owner complaints2
UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Owners report two main issues with the 2024 Audi Q8. One involves the front passenger door, where the inside door handle only partially unlatches the door, requiring a second pull to open it completely. This issue persists despite multiple dealership visits. Another problem involves the vehicle's pre sense system, which unexpectedly activates and brings the car to a stop during left-hand turns, leading to near-miss accidents. Both issues are noted by owners within the first few months of ownership, with the pre sense malfunction posing potential safety risks during driving.
